The Joy Project
I recently had the pleasure of working with New Art Gallery Walsall on the branding for their Collection’s Youth Panel, ‘The Joy Project’ the project extends to all local 16-24 year olds wanting to get involved with Walsall’s art collections and produce an exhibition for the Gallery’s 25th birthday. The project will be led by the young people involved. Alongside the exhibition opportunities, it will involve work experience, development opportunities within the arts, a forum for discussion amongst like-minded peers, as well as a focus on mindfulness, positivity and above all a place where those involved feel safe, included and can enjoy socialising ~ Joy With the branding I chose to illustrate the lettering to feel friendly and embody the values of the project, discussed with Julie at New Art Gallery Walsall. There was a focus on the positives but also to shake things up within the gallery space ~ I particularly loved this notion, hence why we arrived at one of the values for 'disruption' 💥 The icons signify each of the values within the project, which in turn are used as graphic devices throughout their print and digital launch material. Looking forward to revealing more as the project develops.
