This is the third project in the Embedding Diversity series from New Art Gallery Walsall. As ever, it’s a joy to work with the New Art Gallery Walsall, Collections Curator Julie Brown and the team and the Collections Community Panel, a local panel made up of the community of Walsall. For the brand we chose the colour purple as it is recognised for promoting inclusivity and equality for those with disabilities. Each symbol links to mental health (●) neurodiversity (✚) physical disability (=) and hidden disability (▲) and these are throughout the guide as a visual code and placeholder for imagery. The colour was implemented into the exhibition space and pantone matched, with the symbols being a part of the artwork labelling system.
